About Twill Creative

Design that’s thoughtful, strategic, and grounded in real-world experience.

Twill Creative is a one-person studio run by Alexis Winslow, a designer with a user-centered mindset, a sharp eye for detail, and a solid background in both UX and branding. Clients hire Twill because they want more than just a good-looking website or logo. They want someone who listens, translates vision into form, and brings structure to the creative process.

Whether you're launching a new business or reworking an existing one, Alexis brings a blend of creativity, strategy, and hands-on experience to every project. You’ll always work directly with her, though on larger projects she may loop in trusted collaborators.

What Sets Twill Apart?

A clear, collaborative process.

Twill projects are organized and easy to follow. Alexis leads with structure and transparency, so you always know what’s next.

A rare mix of UX and brand thinking.

From naming and messaging to wireframes and visual design, Twill brings consistency to every touchpoint.

Scalable support.

While Alexis is the lead on all projects, she collaborates with a small bench of developers and designers when needed to get the job done right.

YOUR SUCCESS IS OUR PASSION

Who You’ll Be Working With

Hi, I’m Alexis Winslow, the designer behind Twill Creative.

Before founding this studio, I spent a decade as a product designer for a firm that created white-label goods for some of the world’s biggest retailers: Target, Disney, Netflix, Walmart, and many more. I eventually left that world to focus on helping small businesses and creative professionals build thoughtful brands and digital homes of their own.

My background is in visual art and product design. I studied art at the University of Oklahoma, then later completed UX design training at General Assembly in NYC. I’ve also taken continuing education courses in design at FIT in NYC. I’m always learning, evolving, and bringing fresh thinking to each client I work with.

I’m based in Brooklyn, where I live with my family and run Twill Creative from my home studio. Outside of work, you’ll find me at Prospect Park chasing my two kids, dreaming of my next travel adventure, or creating something special for my passion project, Knitdarling.com.

Why “Twill”?

Twill is a type of weave—structured, layered, strong, and flexible. I chose the name because it reflects how I work: blending varied creative and professional experiences into something cohesive and purpose-driven.

Before launching Twill Creative, I spent years working in product design, textile design, the visual arts, and even writing and teaching in the knitting world. Along the way, I also ran a nonprofit, worked in retail, led a team of designers, and yes—even did a stint as a makeup artist and a garment fit model.

These paths may seem unrelated, but together they shaped how I think about design: as the intersection of craft, clarity, and function. That mix of experience helps me meet my clients—creative professionals, small businesses, and service providers—where they are, and guide them toward thoughtful, effective design solutions.

You’ll see echoes of my background throughout my visual branding: geometric “blocks” that hint at patchwork quilts, organic lines that suggest threads or stitches. These abstracted elements serve as a quiet nod to my roots in textiles and my belief that great design is assembled with care—piece by piece.
